Nuoc Tuong Pha – NIKIGO Original Soy Free Lime Dipping Sauce (Vietnam)

Vietnamese food is so satisfying, with grilled meats and spring rolls, fresh herbs and vegetables, savory broths, and lovely rice noodles. And with NIKIGO, this traditional soy-based dipping sauce is now soy-free.

INGREDIENTS

1 clove garlic, minced

2 small red or green chiles, minced

2 ½ tbsp sugar

⅓ cup NIKIGO Original Soy Free Sauce

2 ½ tbsp of fresh lime juice

zest of 1 lime

¼ cup water

DIRECTIONS

In a container mix together all of the ingredients, until sugar is dissolved. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.  This delicious dipping sauce is great with marinated meats, with dumplings, over rice, or however you want to use it!

A variation I like is to add a chopped bell pepper and onion (and reduce the water by half since the vegetables will release some water), let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least an hour (up to 2 days) to soften the bell pepper and onion, and pour over rice, meat or fish.  Yum!
