Lo Mein Noodles

The take-out classic, now made at home top 9 allergen free. If you need an allergen free noodle the Purefetta bucatini really holds up well to the cooking of the lo mein sauce. Feel free to add a protein of your choosing to make it a larger main. Enjoy these craveable saucy noodles at home, they’re sure to be a family favorite on repeat.

Serves 2-4

INGREDIENTS:

1 package Purefetta pasta - bucatini or spaghetti (top 9 free fresh pasta) or noodle of your choice

½ onion, sliced

1 carrot, julienned

1 bell pepper, sliced

2-3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped

3 green onions, sliced into 2 inch sections

1-2 green onions finely sliced

1-2 tbsp oil

For the Sauce:

4 tbsp NIKIGO Original Soy Free Sauce

1 tbsp sugar or mirin

¼ tsp ground white pepper (can substitute with black pepper)

½ tsp perilla oil (Optional)

4 tsp corn starch

DIRECTIONS:

First mix all the sauce ingredients together, stir until dissolved. Bring a pot of water to boil to cook your noodles. In a large wok or pan, add 1-2 Tbs of oil and bring to medium hot heat. Add in the sliced onion, carrot and bell pepper. Cook until soft. Add noodles to water and cook until slightly under done. Drain. Just before the noodles are done, add the garlic to the pan with the veggies. Add the drained noodles, then the sauce and 2 inch long green onions. Stir to combine well, cook for about 1 minute. Garnish with the finely sliced green onions and serve.
